Instructions

1.Spray the inside of the crock pot with nonstick cooking spray
2.Spread the apple pie filling into the bottom of the crock pot
3.Add the dried cherries, dried cranberries or raisins
4.In a separate bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt
5.Slowly stir in the milk and melted butter until well blended.
6.Fold in the toasted walnuts
7.Spread the batter over the fruit in the crock pot
8.In the same bowl used for the batter, combine the apple juice, brown sugar and 1 tablespoon butter. Pour mixture over the batter in the crock pot.
9.Cook the cake in the crock pot on high for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
10.Once finished, turn off the crock pot and let it cool for 30 minutes before serving.
11.Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
