Instructions

1.In a small bowl, combine the fresh cherry halves, orange juice, nutmeg, and Cointreau liqueur or orange liqueur, and let them sit for about 10-15 minutes.
2.In a separate mixing bowl, soften the pint of vanilla ice cream.
3.Using a spatula, fold in the cherry-orange mixture into the softened ice cream until well combined.
4.Pour the mixture into a shallow container and freeze it for about 1-2 hours to allow it to set.
5.Once set, remove it from the freezer and use an ice cream scoop to create swirls in the semi-frozen mixture.
6.Return the container to the freezer for another 1-2 hours to allow it to firm up fully.
