2/3 lb lean ground beef

1 can crushed tomatoes

1 clove garlic , minced
1 teaspoon dried basil

10 -12 uncooked lasagna noodles
1 tablespoon butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
2.Add butter and onions to the skillet and cook until the onions are tender.
3.Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef bouillon, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes.
4.Meanwhile, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse in cold water.
5.In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour until blended, then gradually add milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.
6.Stir in 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
7.Preheat oven to 350 F.
8.In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spoon 1/3 of the beef mixture, then layer with 4-5 lasagna noodles.
9.Spoon additional 1/3 of beef mixture on top of lasagna noodles.
10.Repeat with additional layer of noodles and beef mixture.
11.Top the last layer of beef mixture with the sauce from the saucepan.
12.Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
13.Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
14.Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before serving.
