Ingredients

2 2/3 ounces bacon
2 garlic cloves
1/8 cup fresh parsley
6 leaves fresh basil
3 leaves fresh basil , chopped
3/4 lb ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 fresh onion , diced
1 tablespoon oregano
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
28 ounces tomato sauce ( Classico Tomato & Basil works well )
1 teaspoon sugar ( unless jar sauce is already very sweet )
Dr. Sessions' Meat Sauce is a hearty, meaty, sauce filled with the savory aroma of bacon, basil, and oregano. It is perfect for serving over your favorite pasta dish, meatballs, or even as a topping on pizza. Instructions

1.Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy
2.Remove bacon and chop into small pieces
3.Add garlic, parsley and 6 leaves of basil to the bacon fat and stir for approx. 2 minutes
4.Add ground beef and cook until it is no longer pink. Drain the excess fat
5.Add olive oil, onions, oregano, and 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper to the mixture, and cook until the onions are soft
6.Add tomato sauce, sugar, chopped bacon, and 3 leaves of chopped basil.
7.Simmer the sauce over low heat for 30 – 45 minutes until well combined, occasionally stirring in-between.
