3 tablespoons dry basil leaves
1 1/2 cups romano cheese ( Locatelli is the BEST ! )
2 tablespoons fresh Italian parsley ( chopped )
2 garlic cloves ( minced , you may also add garlic powder if you like a lot of garlic flavor )
2 eggs
2 cups Italian seasoned breadcrumbs ( more or less depending on how `` wet '' the meatball mixture feels )
1 teaspoon salt ( more or less )
1 teaspoon ground black pepper ( more or less )
1 tablespoon olive oil ( for frying )
1 lb pork chop ( white-meat )
1 tablespoon olive oil ( for frying )
1 garlic clove ( minced )
1 pinch salt & pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large yellow onion ( finely chopped )
4 garlic cloves ( minced )
4 cans crushed tomatoes
4 tablespoons dry basil leaves ( more or less )
2 tablespoons garlic powder ( more or less )
3 tablespoons fresh basil leaves ( chopped )

It was a typical dish to make on a Sunday, getting the whole family involved in a meal preparation while meatballs are frying, the sauce is simmering, and Sunday's lunch is ever so worth the wait. Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, add ground beef (or combo of beef and pork), 3 tablespoons dry basil leaves, 1 1/2 cups romano cheese, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley, 2 minced garlic cloves (or garlic powder), 2 eggs, and 2 cups Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. Mix well to combine everything.
2.Add salt and black pepper to your taste and continue mixing until well combined.
3.Shape the mixture into medium-sized meatballs.
4.Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a frying pan and add the pork chops to fry until browned on both sides. After removing the pork chops, add a minced garlic clove to the same pan, cook for half a minute, then pour in crushed tomatoes to cook the sauce. Add 4 tablespoons of dry basil leaves, 2 tablespoons of garlic powder, and 3 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil leaves, then stir.
5.Slide the meatballs and pork chops into the pan with the sauce. Mix everything in the sauce then cover it. Let it simmer on low heat for two hours, completely infusing the meat and tomato flavors.
6.Serve with a sprinkle of grated Romano cheese and chopped parsley on top.
