Ingredients

2 3/4 cups water
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon saffron strand , soaked in 1 tablespoon boiling hot milk
140 g unsalted butter
1 1/4 cups semolina ( coarse grained )
1/3 cup sliced almonds
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/3 cup sultana
Suji halva is a popular Indian and Pakistani dessert made with semolina, butter, and sugar syrup. Instructions

1.In a saucepan, add water and sugar. Heat up over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
2.Add saffron milk and continue to heat until it starts to boil.
3.In a different saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Add coarse semolina and fry for approximately 6-8 minutes, stirring constantly.
4.Add sliced almonds and continue to stir for another 2 minutes.
5.Add hot sugar syrup, ground cardamom, and sultanas into semolina mixture. Mix well and continue cooking for another 5 to 8 minutes until all the liquid dissipates.
6.Remove from heat and let it cool for about 2 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
