Devon Pork and Cider is a traditional British dish that has been enjoyed for generations. It is a simple and hearty meal, featuring tender pork cooked in a savory cider sauce. This dish is perfect for colder months, as it is warm, filling, and full of flavor. Devon, a county in southwestern England, is known for its rolling hills and fertile farmland, making it the perfect place to raise pigs and apples. This dish is a testament to the region's rich culinary history and the bounty of its land.

Instructions

.Preheat your oven to 350°F.
.Season the pork with salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Coat it with flour.
.In a pan, heat the butter and olive oil. Add onion and celery and cook for 5 minutes.
.Remove the vegetables from the pan and keep aside.
.In the same pan, cook the pork until browned on both sides.
.Remove the pork from the pan and place it in a baking dish.
.Add the cooked onion and celery to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.
.Add hard alcoholic cider and bring it to boil. Cook for 2 minutes.
.Pour the cider sauce over the pork in the baking dish, along with diced apples.
.Cover the dish with foil and bake it in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes. Check the pork regularly to see if it is cooked by cutting it in the middle. It should be white but not pink, and the juices should run clear.

.Bake the pork for an additional 10 minutes until the cream is thickened.
.Your Devon Pork and Cider is ready. Serve it garnished with chopped parsley.
