Ingredients

2 medium white onions ( chopped )
2 large bell peppers ( chopped )
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 lbs ground beef
1 lb sausage ( I prefer Hot , but Mild will do fine )
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 lb processed American cheese spread ( cubed )
15 -18 corn tostadas
3 cans tomato sauce
2 packages taco seasoning
1 package hot chili seasoning mix
Debo's Mexican Lasagna Casserole is a twist on traditional lasagna, but with Mexican flavors and a spicy kick. The recipe features layers of corn tostadas, a meaty sauce with tomatoes, ground beef, sausage, hot chili seasoning, and classic Mexican spices. Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F.
2.In a large skillet, cook onions, peppers, and garlic until tender.
3.Add ground beef and sausage to the skillet and cook until browned.
4.Drain excess fat.
5.Stir in tomato sauce and taco seasoning, and bring to a boil.
6.Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7.In a 9x13 inch baking dish, layer 5-6 tostadas, breaking them to fit as necessary.
8.Ladle 1/3 of the meat sauce over the tostadas and sprinkle with 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
9.Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, reserving 1/2 cup of cheese for the top.
10.Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
11.Remove foil and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
12.Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
13.Let the casserole cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
