This particular recipe uses yellow split peas as the base, and is seasoned with turmeric, mustard seeds, and chili powder for a burst of flavor. The soup is thickened naturally by the split peas and can be adjusted to your preferred consistency. Adding fresh coriander as a garnish provides a refreshing and fragrant twist to this classic soup.
