Ingredients

1/2 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon green chili paste
2 teaspoons garlic paste
salt
4 cloves
2 medium sized onions ( sliced )
fresh mint leaves , a few sprigs
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 medium sized tomatoes ( blanched , de-skinned & pureed )
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons ginger paste
3 tablespoons oil
4 black cardamom pods
2 inches cinnamon sticks
2 bay leaves
800 g chicken
Dahi Tamatarwala Murgh, also known as Chicken in Yogurt and Tomato Gravy, is a popular North Indian dish that is made with a blend of yogurt, tomatoes, and spices. The gravy is tangy, creamy, and flavorsome, which pairs well with steamed rice or roti. Instructions

1.Marinate the chicken in yogurt, green chili paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt for at least 20-30 minutes.
2.Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cloves, black cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks and bay leaves. Sauté for 30 seconds.
3.Add onions and cook till golden brown.
4.Add mint leaves, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cardamom powder, and nutmeg. Sauté for a minute or two.
5.Add tomato puree and cook till oil separates from the masala.
6.Add marinated chicken and sauté well for 3-4 minutes.
7.Add black pepper and around 1/2 a cup of water. Mix well and close the lid.
8.Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
9.Once cooled, open the lid and take out the chicken on a plate.
10.Pour the remaining gravy into a pan and cook for a minute or two to thicken it.
11.Pour the thickened gravy over the chicken and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
