Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or 1 lb turkey
1 lb ground Italian sausage
1 medium onion , diced ( optional )
1 small green pepper , diced ( optional )
4 ounces mixed mushrooms , diced ( optional )
4 garlic cloves , chopped ( optional )

4 cups mozzarella cheese
1 container small curd cottage cheese ( small container ) or ( 16 ounce ) container ricotta cheese ( small container )
2 jars spaghetti sauce
8 uncooked lasagna noodles ( Dreamfield 's )
Traditional lasagna is a time-consuming dish that requires baking in the oven for at least an hour. This crock pot version is a much simpler and quicker version that still delivers all the flavors of classic lasagna. The layers of cheese, noodles, and meat are still there, but this version is cooked in a slow cooker and requires less attention. Instructions

1.In a large skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
2.Add diced onion, green pepper, mushrooms, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender.
3.Layer ingredients into slow cooker in the following order: spaghetti sauce, noodles, meat mixture, small curd cottage cheese (or ricotta), and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used up.
4.Cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
5.Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
