14 slices fresh white bread , crust removed
3 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese , divided
1/4 cup butter , divided
6 eggs
3 cups milk , scalded ( heated to 180 degrees , just to the edge of boiling )
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce ( optional )
1/2 teaspoon salt
paprika ( optional )

Instructions

1.Grease the inside of a 4-6 quart crock pot with butter .
2.Cut white bread into bite size cubes and set aside.

4.Layer half of the bread cubes and half the cheese mixture in the crock pot. Repeat with remaining bread and cheese mixture.
5.Sprinkle the remaining cheese and paprika over the top.
6.Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until souffle is set and golden brown on top.
