Ingredients

700 g boneless lamb
250 g onions
400 g green peas ( fresh )
200 g potatoes
1 tablespoon lard ( or 2 tablespoons oil )
2 teaspoons paprika ( red , dried )
1/2 teaspoon thyme ( dry )
1 cup wine ( white , dry )
3 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Croatian Lamb-Beef Stew with Green Peas is a classic comfort food that has been enjoyed in Croatia for centuries. Instructions

1.Cut the lamb and onions into bite-sized chunks.
2.Halve the potatoes lengthwise and then cut into 1 cm slices.
3.Heat up the lard or oil in a large pot and cook the lamb in it for 5 minutes over high heat while stirring constantly.
4.Reduce the heat and sprinkle the paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper over the lamb. Mix well.
5.Add the onions and 1/2 cup of water to the pot, cover with a lid, and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
6.After 30 minutes, add the peeled and chopped potatoes and another 1/2 cup of water to the pot.
7.Cover with a lid and cook for 30 more minutes.
8.Add the green peas and wine to the pot and mix well.
9.Cover and continue cooking for another 15 to 20 minutes until everything is tender.
