Ingredients

1 lb shrimp , rinsed shelled , and de-veined
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup 1 % low-fat milk
1/4 cup pineapple-orange juice
3 tablespoons minimum honey ( I used 5-6 )
2 tablespoons cornstarch ( I do n't own cornstarch ) or 2 tablespoons sesame oil ( I do n't own cornstarch )
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil ( optional )
frying oil ( skillet 1/2 inch full )
sesame oil ( for second coating , 1/4 inch full skillet )
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon ( optional )
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 egg
1/2 lemon

Instructions

1.In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the water, milk, pineapple-orange juice, honey and cornstarch (or sesame oil if you don't have cornstarch).
2.In another medium-sized bowl, mix together flour, cinnamon, salt, black pepper and sesame seeds.
3.Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture, then into the milk mixture, and then back into the flour mixture (make sure each shrimp is fully coated).
4.Heat the frying oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the shrimp in batches and fry them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
5.Remove from oil and let them cool.
6.Heat the sesame oil in a separate skillet over medium heat.
7.Add the cooked shrimp and fry for about a minute, stirring them around until they're coated in the oil.
8.Remove from heat and serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice (optional).
