pastry dough , for a 9 inch double-crust deep-dish pie
1 egg yolk mixed with 1 teaspoon water
1 cup mangoes or 1 cup other chutney

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.In a bowl, combine curry powder, soy sauce, chili-garlic sauce, sugar, Chinese five spice powder, and cornstarch water mixture. Set aside.
3.In a skillet over medium heat, add cooking oil. Add ground beef and chopped onion, breaking up the meat until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
4.Add minced green onion and the spice mixture. Stir to combine and cook for another minute or two.
5.Roll out the pastry dough into a rectangle about 10 x 16-inch. Cut the dough into 4 squares.
6.Divide the beef filling among the 4 squares, placing the filling on one half of each square. Fold the other half of dough to cover and pinch the edges to seal. Use a fork to press around the edges to secure the seal.
7.Brush the turnovers with egg wash. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
8.Serve with your favorite mango chutney or other chutney.
