Ingredients

6 cups plain flour
4 teaspoons sugar
3 cups water , lukewarm
1 teaspoon dried yeast
Criollo, in Spanish means 'Creole', refers to the people with a mixed heritage in Latin America. The Criollo Bread is one of the most popular bread in South America, especially Venezuela and Columbia. This bread is light, fluffy, and subtly sweet with a delicate aroma - a perfect accompaniment to any meal, especially soups and stews. It is also widely eaten as a breakfast bread with toppings like cheeses, eggs, and butter. The bread has a crispy crust and a soft crumb making it delicious to eat alone or with other foods. Instructions

1.Mix the plain flour and sugar in a large bowl.
2.Add lukewarm water and dried yeast to the bowl and mix well with a spatula.
3.Mix the ingredients together with your hands until the dough is not too sticky.
4.Knead the dough well on a clean surface for 10-15 minutes until it feels elastic.
5.Make a ball out of the dough and place it back in the bowl.
6.Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for atleast an hour.
7.Preheat the oven to 460F.
8.Transfer the dough into a baking dish or loaf pan and dust it with flour before putting it in the oven.
9.Lower the temperature to 390F and bake for around 35 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
