Crab cakes are a classic American dish that originated in the Chesapeake Bay area, where crabs are abundant and a local staple. They are typically made with lump crabmeat mixed with breadcrumbs, egg, and seasoning, then fried or baked until golden brown. While the origin of the dish is unknown, it is believed to date back to the 19th century, when crabbing became a popular activity in the region. The strawberry salsa gives a modern twist to the dish, adding a fruity and fresh flavor that balances the rich and salty taste of the crabmeat. This recipe is perfect for a summer barbecue or a special occasion with family and friends.
