Ingredients

2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
2 teaspoons mustard powder
black pepper
30 g butter
440 g corn kernels , liquid reserved
125 g camembert cheese or 125 g brie cheese , cut into small cubes
1 egg , lighly beaten
This Corn & Camembert Bread is a twist on traditional bread, with added flavours of corn and cheese. The corn kernels add a sweetness and crunch to the bread. Camembert cheese is used to add richness and depth of flavour. This bread is perfect as a side dish with a bowl of soup or salad, or as an accompaniment to a hearty casserole. It can also be served as a snack with butter or jam. This bread is easy to make and is sure to impress your family and friends with its unique flavour.

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
2.Sift flour, mustard powder and pepper into a bowl. Rub in butter until mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in corn and cheese.
3.Make a well in centre of flour mixture. Add egg and enough reserved corn liquid to make a soft, sticky dough. Turn dough onto a floured surface, kneading lightly until smooth.
4.Shape dough into an 18cm round. Place onto prepared tray. Using a sharp knife, score dough into 8 wedges.
5.Brush top with a little reserved corn liquid. Bake for 25-30mins or until golden and cooked through. Serve warm or at room temperature.
