4 1/2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 ounce dry active yeast
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup butter
2 large eggs
1 lb ground round
4 cups cabbage , shredded
1 medium onion , chopped
3 garlic cloves , minced

Runzas are a popular comfort food in the Midwest area of the United States. They originated from the German-Russian immigrants and are also known as Bierocks. These triangular-shaped buns are stuffed with a filling of cabbage, onion and ground beef and are perfect for a hearty meal. Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, yeast and salt.
2.Heat milk, water and butter in a saucepan until butter melts. Add this mixture along with the eggs to the bowl with flour mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.
3.Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
4.Meanwhile, in another skillet, sauté ground round, cabbage, onion and garlic for few minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
5.Roll out the dough and cut it into 8-10 pieces. Divide filling evenly among them.
6.Roll each piece into a ball and place it on a baking sheet. Let it rest for another 10 minutes.
7.Preheat oven to 400°F and bake runzas for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot.
