/2 cup soft brown sugar

Blondies are a classic American dessert that are similar to brownies, but are made with brown sugar instead of cocoa powder. This recipe puts a fancy twist on the classic blondie recipe by adding in white chocolate chips, chopped macadamia nuts, and a touch of orange liqueur. The result is a decadent dessert that is perfect for special occasions or dinner parties. The white chocolate ganache and Cointreau liqueur add a touch of elegance and sophistication, making these blondies a showstopper on any dessert table.

Instructions

.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 20 cm (8 inch) square baking tin with parchment paper.
.In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and brown sugar. Add in the eggs and orange peel, mixing until just combined.
.Fold in the macadamia nuts and 400 g of white chocolate chips, stirring until evenly distributed.
.Pour the batter into the prepared baking tin and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
.While the blondies are baking, prepare the white chocolate ganache. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the remaining 300 g of white chocolate chips and cream in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is smooth.
.Once the blondies are finished baking, remove them from the oven and allow them to cool for 10-15 minutes. Pour the white chocolate ganache over the top of the blondies, using an offset spatula to spread it out into an even layer.
.Drizzle the Cointreau liqueur over the top of the ganache, using a spoon to swirl it in. Allow the ganache to cool and set before cutting the blondies into squares.
