6 clementines or 6 any small oranges
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds ( optional )

Instructions

1.In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, ginger, cardamom pods, and star anise. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

3.Cut off both ends of clementines, and slice the peels lengthwise into quarters, creating 4 pieces attached at one end.
4.Carefully separate the peels from the flesh, keeping the flesh intact.
5.Add the clementine peels to the syrup and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
6.Remove from heat and let the clementines soak in the syrup for at least 30 minutes.
7.Serve the clementines with the syrup, garnished with pomegranate seeds (optional).
