1 navel orange

1 blood orange
1 tangelo
1 lemon
1 inch slice fresh ginger
1 cup water
1/2 cup red wine
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

1.Cut the peel off of oranges, tangerine, and lemon in wide strips. Cut the peel into thin, long strips.
2.Slice the flesh of all citrus fruits into thin rounds, remove seeds, and reserve them.
3.In a large pot, add citrus peels, slices, ginger, water, wine, and brown sugar. Cook over low heat until fruit is covered in liquid, then simmer for at least an hour.
4.Stir in granulated sugar and reserved seeds. Boil over medium-high heat until mixture reaches a temperature of 220°F and the mixture thickens.
5.Let the mixture cool in the pot for 10 minutes, then carefully remove the seeds. Pour into jars and let it cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
