Ingredients

1 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 lemon , rind of
fat ( for frying )
granulated sugar or powdered sugar
Churros are a traditional dessert in Mexico, Spain, and other countries that was originally served for breakfast. They are fried dough pastries usually served warm and dusted with granulated sugar or powdered sugar. Churros have been a popular street food treat all over the world for decades. They are a simple thing to make and can be enjoyed anytime, but they are especially delicious on a cold, rainy day with a hot cup of coffee.

Instructions

1.In a medium pan, add water, sugar, salt, and the rind of half a lemon. Mix and bring to a boil.
2.Lower the heat and add flour to the pan. Mix until it forms a thick paste and does not stick to the pan. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
3.Add eggs one at a time to the mixture, beating well until smooth.
4.Heat the fat in a deep fryer or a medium pot to around 350 F.
5.Pipe the dough into the fryer, cutting it into pieces with scissors. Fry until golden brown for about 2 to 3 minutes.
6.Roll the churros on a plate with sugar to coat them well.
