Ingredients

500 g shortcrust pastry ( enough for a double crust pie )
30 g butter
1 medium onion , coarsely diced
2 slices middle bacon , coarsely chopped
250 g beef , minced
250 g pork , minced
1 tablespoon flour
60 ml hot beef stock
60 ml red wine
salt , to taste
1/2 - 3/4 teaspoon marjoram
1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius.

9.Pour the meat mixture onto the pastry base and spread it out evenly.
10.Roll out the remaining pastry and cover the meat mixture carefully.
11.Cut a few small slashes on the pastry to allow steam to escape during cooking.
12.Bake the pie in the oven for 45-50 minutes until the crust turns golden brown in color and the filling is cooked through.
13.Serve hot or cold as per preference.
