Ingredients

2 quarts water
1 large Granny Smith apple , cubed
10 Wuyi tea bags
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 coffee filter
1 kitchen string
1 cup anisette liqueur
Christmas Tea (Peruvian Style) is a warm and comforting drink that is perfect for the holiday season. Originating from Peru, this tea is a unique blend of Wuyi tea, apple, cinnamon, peppercorns, allspice, cloves, and anisette liqueur. While the anise flavor can be strong for some people, it can easily be left out of the recipe for a milder taste. Instructions

1.In a large pot, bring water and apple to a boil.
2.Once boiling, reduce heat and add tea bags, cinnamon, peppercorns, allspice, and cloves. Simmer for 10 minutes.
3.Remove from heat and let stand for another 10 minutes.
4.Strain the tea through a coffee filter into a large bowl.
5.Using kitchen string, bundle peppercorns and spices into a sachet and steep in anisette liqueur for 5 minutes.
6.Remove the sachet and stir the anisette liqueur into the tea.
7.Serve hot and enjoy!
