Ingredients

1 cup self-raising flour
1 cup firmly packed stale white breadcrumb
125 g caster sugar ( superfine sugar )
125 g butter or 125 g margarine
600 g mixed dried fruit
100 g diced dried apricots
1/2 cup chopped pecan nuts
3 eggs , lightly beaten
100 g dark chocolate chips
2 tablespoons brandy
2 tablespoons golden syrup
1 tablespoon Grand Marnier

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.

8.Tie the paper and foil tightly around the edge of the basin with kitchen string.
9.Place the basin into a large pot and add enough boiling water to halfway up the side of the basin.
10.Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and steam the pudding for 5 hours, adding more boiling water as necessary to keep the water level steady.
11.Remove the pudding from the pot and let it cool for 10 minutes.
12.Turn the pudding onto a serving plate and decorate with apricots and chocolate chips.
13.Serve hot with custard, sauce, or cream.
