Ingredients

1 liter milk ( full cream , preferably )
4 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon green cardamoms , powdered
200 g choliya , ground
3 -5 saffron threads , dissolved in a little water
Choliye Ki Kheer is a popular North Indian dessert made from choliya (green chickpeas). Instructions

1.Rinse the ground choliya thoroughly with water and soak it for 6-8 hours.
2.Then grind the choliya and make a paste.
3.In a thick-bottomed pan, add 1 liter of milk and boil it.
4.Once the milk starts boiling, add the ground choliya paste to it.
5.Then add sugar and powdered green cardamom to the milk.
6.Cook the mixture on low flame till the choliya gets cooked and the kheer gets thick in consistency.
7.Add saffron threads dissolved in little water to the kheer and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
8.Finally, serve the kheer warm or chilled garnished with dry fruits.
