200 g rice , Basmati
200 g green gram ( cholia )
1 tablespoon oil
1 inch ginger , julienned ( adrak )
4 cloves ( laung )
2 g cinnamon sticks ( dalchini )
3 g black cardamom pods
2 bay leaves ( tej patta )
600 ml water , hot

Instructions

1.Rinse the basmati rice, add to a pot with hot water, and cook until tender. Drain any excess water and set aside.
2.In a separate pan, heat oil and add in the ginger, cloves, cinnamon sticks, black cardamom pods, and bay leaves. Saute for 1-2 minutes.
3.Add in the green gram and cook for another 5 minutes.
4.Combine the cooked rice with the green gram mixture and stir to combine evenly.
