Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup honey
3 eggs
3/4 cup cocoa powder , Dutch-processed
1 tablespoon liqueur , whatever you like or 1 tablespoon use a flavoring like vanilla extract
3 tablespoons cornstarch , diluted in 1/4 cup of cold water
3/4 lb of marie cookie , cut in small squares ( plain cookies , like animal crackers )
1 1 almonds ( no need to toast the pistachios ) or 1 hazelnuts , toasted ( no need to toast the pistachios )
Chocolate Salami also known as “Salam d’chokola” is a traditional Lebanese dessert that’s quite simple and easy to make. This dessert is a popular no-bake dessert recipe made with sweetened cocoa, cookies, and almonds. It got its name because of its resemblance to the Italian Salami. In Lebanon, it is often served on special occasions and festivals, but you can enjoy it as a dessert any time you’re craving chocolate.

Instructions

1.Melt the butter, sugar, and honey together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
2.In a bowl, beat the eggs slightly and add in cocoa powder. Mix until well combined.
3.Add the egg mixture into the saucepan and mix it over low heat.
4.Add liqueur and cornstarch (diluted in water) and stir it until the mixture becomes thick.
5.Add the marie cookies and chopped almonds into the saucepan. Mix until well combined and the cookies are coated properly.
6.Transfer the mixture into a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Shape the mixture into a log and freeze for at least 1 hour.
7.To serve, unwrap the chocolate salami from the wax paper and dust some powdered sugar on top.
