1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1 scallion , minced , white part only
1 garlic clove , minced
1/4 cup water
salt , to taste
fresh ground pepper
crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°F.
2.Combine sugar, salt, dry mustard, Chinese five spice powder, pepper, cinnamon, and cloves in a small bowl.

6.When the ribs are done, remove them from the oven and brush them with the guava barbecue sauce on both sides.
7.Grill the ribs on a heated grill, basting occasionally with more sauce, until lightly charred, about 15 minutes.
8.Serve with extra guava barbecue sauce and crushed red pepper flakes, if desired.
