Chinese-style chicken toasts are a twist on the classic prawn toasts that are popular in Chinese cuisine. These toasts have a filling of juicy chicken and flavors of garlic, spring onions, and red chile, which are then topped with sesame seeds and fried until crisp and golden. The toasts are then broiled with the chicken filling until golden brown, making them perfect for a dinner party or a movie night with friends. Serve these toasts hot with some salad leaves on the side for a refreshing touch.

Instructions

.Boil the chicken breast fillets in a pot of water until cooked through. Drain and let cool.
.Finely chop the garlic cloves, spring onions, and red chile and place them in a bowl.
.Once the chicken has cooled, shred it into small pieces and add it to the bowl.
.Beat an egg in a small dish and mix with five-spice powder and plum sauce.
.Cut the crusts off the slices of bread and cut each one diagonally into two triangles.
.Place the sesame seeds on a plate. Heat up the vegetable oil in a pan.
.Dip each triangle of bread into the egg mixture and coat both sides. Place onto sesame seeds and press the seeds onto the bread.
.Fry the sesame-coated bread over medium heat until golden on both sides. Drain on kitchen paper.
.Spoon the chicken mixture onto the toasts and place under a preheated grill for 5 minutes until golden.
