Ingredients

1 tablespoon yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
4 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

1.In a small bowl, combine yeast, sugar and warm water together. Set aside to proof for about 5 minutes.
2.In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and yeast mixture until just combined.
3.Knead the dough with your hands for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and uniform in texture.
4.Cover the dough and leave it in a warm place to double in size, this should take about an hour.
5.Once the dough has doubled, punch down the dough and knead it again before shaping it into small bowls and leaving them to rest for another 20 minutes.
6.In a steamer, steam the buns over high heat for around 20 minutes or until they become fluffy.
7.Remove the buns from the steamer and serve while still warm.
