Fried ice cream is a popular dessert that has roots in both China and Mexico, representing two different takes on how to achieve its crispy exterior while keeping the ice cream frozen. The Chinese version often features a cornflake coating and is deep-fried until golden brown, while the Mexican version uses cinnamon and tortilla chips instead. Sometimes, chefs add other ingredients such as chocolate chips, nuts, or fruit to enhance the flavor. The dish has since spread to other countries and is now available in various flavors and styles. It's a perfect choice for satisfying your sweet tooth cravings on a hot summer day, as it delivers a refreshing and indulgent experience.

Instructions

1.Take a scoop of vanilla ice cream and pat it dry with paper towels.
2.Roll the ice cream in crushed frosted flakes, making sure it's fully coated.
3.Before refreezing, sprinkle cinnamon and confectioners' sugar on top (optional).
4.Freeze the ice cream for at least 3 hours or overnight.
5.Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or pan until it reaches around 375 degrees F.
6.Put the coated ice cream in a frying basket or slotted spoon, and submerge it in the hot oil.
