1 piece fresh ginger root , thinly sliced
1 spring onion , sliced
2 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt , or to taste

Instructions

1.In a large pot, bring 3 quarts of water to a boil.

4.Let the mixture simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the rice is fully cooked and the congee is thick and creamy.
