1 lb ground beef
2 onions , chopped
3 garlic cloves , minced
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
salt and pepper
1 can chopped green chilies
1 dozen corn tortilla
2 lbs monterey jack cheese , grated
1 pint sour cream

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
2.In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat.
3.Add in the chopped onions, minced garlic, and diced tomatoes.
4.Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, salt, and pepper.
5.Add in the chopped green chilies and mix well.
6.Simmer the mixture for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7.Cut the corn tortillas into quarters.
8.Layer half of the tortilla quarters in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
9.Spoon half of the beef mixture over the tortillas and sprinkle with half of the grated cheese.
10.Repeat layering with remaining tortillas, beef mixture, and cheese.
11.Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
12.Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
13.Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream on top.
