1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 -4 cardamom pods
3 -4 whole cloves
5 cups water
1 1/2 - 2 lbs chicken pieces
2 cups basmati rice
cashews , Almonds , and Golden raisins for serving

Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat oil and fry onions until softened.

3.Add 5 cups of water and chicken pieces, bring to a boil, and then simmer for 15 minutes.
4.Remove the cooked chicken and set aside.
5.Add basmati rice into the pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
6.Serve the cooked rice in a large platter and put the chicken pieces on top with cashews, almonds, and golden raisins.
