Instructions

1.Char poblano chiles directly over gas flame or in broiler until blackened on all sides.
2.Enclose in plastic bag; let stand 10 minutes.
3.Peel chiles, seed, and cut into thin strips.
4.Preheat oven to 350°F.
5.Sprinkle chicken with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
6.Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat.
7.Add chicken and sauté until brown and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.
8.Transfer chicken to ovenproof dish.
9.Wipe out skillet.
10.Add 1/2 tablespoon olive oil to same skillet; heat over medium-high heat.
11.Add onion and sauté until tender and golden brown, about 6 minutes.
12.Add chiles and stir 1 minute.
13.Add creme fraiche or sour cream; stir until heated through.
14.Adjust seasoning to taste with salt and pepper.
15.Spoon chile mixture over chicken. Bake until heated through, about 10 minutes.
