Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion , finely chopped
1 garlic clove , crushed
400 g chickpeas , rinsed , drained
1 cup dry whole grain breadcrumbs
1 egg , lightly beaten
1 -2 tablespoon besan flour , to thicken ( optional )
1/4 cup chermoula , spice
Chermoula Chickpea Burgers are a delicious and healthy vegetarian meal option. Instructions

1.Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until softened.
2.Transfer onion mixture to a large bowl. Add chickpeas and use a fork or potato masher to coarsely mash.
3.Add breadcrumbs, egg and chermoula and stir until well combined. Use your hands to shape mixture into 4 patties.
4.Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Spray with olive oil spray to grease. Cook patties for 3 to 4 minutes each side or until golden.
5.Serve patties on burger buns with your choice of salad and condiments.
