3/4 cup onion , finely chopped
1/3 cup flour
2 cups oats
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
2 tablespoons butter , cold and cut into small pieces
1/2 cup fresh parmesan cheese , grated
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup egg substitute ( or 1 egg )

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2.In a large bowl, combine the onion, flour, oats, baking powder, salt, and red pepper.
3.Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4.Mix in the parmesan cheese.
5.In a separate bowl, whisk together the water and egg substitute (or egg).
6.Stir into the dry ingredients just until the dough comes together.
7.Divide the dough into 8 portions and shape each one into a ball.
8.Flatten the balls into disks, about 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick.
9.Place the disks on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
10.Serve hot or at room temperature.
