Ingredients

1 1/2 cups char siu pork , cut into small dice ( store bought or recipe below )
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1 tablespoon ginger , minced
1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon sweet chili paste ( or garlic chili paste )
4 scallions , sliced
1 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/4 cups warm water
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 pinch salt
olive oil
1 lb lean pork
4 garlic cloves , minced
1 teaspoon gingerroot , minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons sugar
2 2 tablespoons Chinese wine or 2 tablespoons sake
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder ( optional )

12.Flatten each ball with a rolling pin, creating a 3-inch disk.
13.Place one tablespoon filling in the center of each disk.

15.Place the buns on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let it rise for 15 minutes.
