Ingredients

12 tortillas
8 poblano chiles
2 bunches green onions , dark green tops trimmed off
2 lbs skirt steaks , cut crosswise into 6-inch wide pieces
4 garlic cloves , minced
coarse kosher salt
2 avocados , peeled , pitted and sliced
lime wedge
12 ounces tomatoes , cut into 1/4-inch cubes
1 medium white onion , cut into 1/4-inch cubes
2 -8 jalapeno chiles , chopped
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
coarse kosher salt

Instructions

1.In a large bowl, mix garlic, kosher salt and skirt steak and let it sit for 1 hour.
2.Preheat grill to high heat.
3.Grill steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
4.Grill green onions and poblano chiles on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
5.Slice the steak into thin strips and serve it in warm tortillas with avocados and lime wedges with grilled poblano chiles and green onions.
6.For the salsa, mix together chopped tomatoes, white onion, chopped jalapeño chiles, chopped cilantro, lime juice and kosher salt in a bowl.
7.Serve the salsa with carne asada.
