Ingredients

250 g plain flour
salt
2 tablespoons golden granulated sugar
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
150 ml buttermilk
50 ml milk
75 g dried sour cherries

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas 6.
2.Mix the flour, a pinch of salt, sugar and bicarbonate of soda together in a mixing bowl.
3.Add the buttermilk, milk and sour cherries and stir together until just combined.
4.Tip out onto a floured surface and lightly knead until the dough comes together.
5.Pat out to about 3cm deep then cut out rounds using a 5cm cutter.
6.6.Place onto a baking tray lined with baking parchment and brush the tops with a little more milk.
7.Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
