Ingredients

1 3/4 cups bulgur ( coarse )
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
3 cups vegetable broth
2 tablespoons vegetable broth
1 cup chestnuts ( roasted , sold in jars , or cans )
3 tablespoons raisins
1/2 teaspoon tangerine zest ( grated ) or 1/2 teaspoon orange zest ( grated )
1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon ground turkish red peppers ( Aleppo or Urfa ) or 1/8-1/4 teaspoon mild chili powder
ground cinnamon , for garnish
1 small fresh dill sprig , for garnish
Bulgur pilaf is a nutritious and filling dish made from cooked cracked wheat. Instructions

1.In a large pot, heat the oil and melt the butter over medium-high heat.

4.Pour in 3 cups of vegetable broth and stir to combine.
5.Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the bulgur is tender and has absorbed the broth.

7.When the bulgur is cooked, stir in the chestnuts, raisins, tangerine zest, and Turkish red peppers, mixing until well-combined.
8.Remove from heat and let sit for a few minutes before serving.
9.Garnish with ground cinnamon and a small fresh dill sprig.
