warm water , for extracting
water , for washing millet and for steaming
2 cups millet
banana leaf , for wrapping
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

1.In a mixing bowl, combine grated coconut and warm water.
2.Mix thoroughly, then squeeze and extract the coconut milk.
3.Wash millet in cold water. Fill a bowl with cold water and add millet seeds. Swirl and drain water. Repeat this step about 3-4 times.
4.Place millet and 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Cook uncovered over medium-high heat until millet is cooked.
5.Add sugar and salt. Stir and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
6.Spread banana leaf lengthwise on a flat surface. Put millet mixture on the banana leaf and fold both sides until the filling is covered.
7.Steam wrap millet for about an hour.
8.Ready to serve!
