Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8 inch (20 cm) square baking dish.
2.In a bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and chili powder (if using).
3.In a blender, combine cocoa powder, silken tofu, unsweetened applesauce, oil, vanilla, and eggs until smooth.
4.Combine dry mixture with wet mixture and stir until well combined. Fold in chopped walnuts.
5.Pour batter into the prepared baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6.Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.
