Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 1/2 cups dried bread crumbs
2 eggs , beaten
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons Italian-style seasoning
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
3/4 cup pizza sauce
2 cups chopped stewed tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped fresh mushrooms
1/4 can chopped black olives , drained
1 package sliced pepperoni sausage
12 slices mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Brenda's Italian Style Patties are a variation of classic American hamburgers with the added flavors of Italian seasoning, pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese. These patties are perfect for a summer BBQ or a cozy winter dinner, and they are sure to please a crowd. Instructions

1.Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
2.In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, pork, bread crumbs, eggs, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, salt, black pepper, Italian-style seasoning, sage and garlic powder. Mix together until well-combined.
3.Form the mixture into patties that are about 2-3 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
4.Grill the patties for 5 minutes on one side, then flip them over and grill for another 5 minutes on the other side.
5.In a separate mixing bowl, combine pizza sauce, chopped tomatoes, chopped mushrooms, and chopped black olives.
6.Place a spoonful of the sauce mixture on each patty and top with a few slices of the pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.
7.Place the patties back on the grill and cook until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
8.Garnish with shredded mozzarella cheese and serve.
