Ingredients

1/2 cup long grain brown rice
1/2 cup wild rice
2 cups water ( or broth )
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt
1 tablespoon olive oil ( or butter )
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind ( or lemon rind )
1/4 cup kalamata olive , sliced ( or black olives )
1/4 cup brazil nut , chopped
Brazilian Wild Rice Blend is a flavorful and nutritious rice dish that offers a unique and distinct flavor profile. Instructions

1.Rinse the brown rice and wild rice in a mesh strainer and set aside.
2.In a medium pot or Dutch oven, bring the water or broth to a boil over high heat.
3.Add the olive oil, salt, brown rice and wild rice to the pot and stir to combine.
4.Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 35-45 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
5.While the rice is cooking, in a small bowl, whisk together the chili powder, garlic powder, honey, salt, orange rind, and olive oil or butter.
6.Once the rice is done cooking, fluff it with a fork and then add the chili mixture to the pot with the rice. Stir to combine.
7.Add the sliced olives and chopped brazil nuts to the pot and mix thoroughly.
