Ingredients

1 kg beef ( I used 2 pounds of beef and 1 pound of pork ) or 1 kg lamb ( I used 2 pounds of beef and 1 pound of pork )
1 cabbage ( cut into bite sized wedges )
2 -3 carrots ( peeled and cut into bite sized pieces )
3 -4 large tomatoes ( cut up in wedges )
3 -4 large potatoes ( peeled and cut up in wedges )
2 onions ( cut up in wedges )
2 garlic cloves ( sliced )
2 green bell peppers ( cut up in wedges )
1/2 tablespoon cooking oil
1/2 tablespoon vinegar
salt and pepper
water
white wine
Bosanski Lonac, also known as Bosnian Pot, is a traditional Bosnian dish that has been enjoyed for centuries. This hearty and filling stew typically includes a variety of vegetables–cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and green bell peppers–cooked together with meat (usually beef or lamb) and seasoned to taste with salt, pepper, and vinegar. It is often served during festivities and celebrations and is a staple dish in many Bosnian households. Bosanski Lonac is a dish that has deep roots in Bosnian culture and has been passed down from generation to generation.

Instructions

1.Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
2.Add in onions and garlic and sauté for 5 minutes, until onions are soft.
3.Add in the beef, lamb or pork and sear until browned on all sides.
4.Add in the white wine and tomatoes and let cook for 5 minutes.
5.Add in enough water to cover the meat.
6.Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
7.Add in potatoes, carrots, cabbage, and green bell peppers and simmer for another 30 minutes or until all vegetables are tender.
8.Season with salt, pepper, and vinegar to taste.

Bosanski Lonac is a filling and satisfying stew that can easily feed a crowd.
