Ingredients

2 cups low-fat plain yogurt
100 g gram flour ( Besan )
1/2 teaspoon roasted cumin powder ( jeera )
salt
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/8 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander leaves
oil , to fry
Boondi Raita is a traditional yogurt-based side dish from North India. It is a staple in any Indian meal and accompanies spicy dishes such as Biryani, Samosas or Kebabs. The word 'Boond' means small drops, which is how the tiny balls or Boondis are shaped in the recipe. This dish is a perfect blend of sweet, salty, and tangy and adds a refreshing flavour to the spread. Instructions

1.In a deep bowl, whisk the low-fat plain yogurt until it's smooth and creamy.
2.Add salt, red chili powder, roasted cumin powder, and garam masala powder and mix well. Set aside.
3.Sift gram flour (Besan) in a separate bowl, add salt, and water to make a consistent batter.
4.Heat oil in a deep pan.
5.Holding the perforated spoon over hot oil, pour the prepared batter on the spoon and tap. Allow the boondis or tiny balls to get deep fried but not golden.
6.Remove from oil and drain on paper towel.
7.Once cooled, add the fried boondis to the yogurt mixture and mix well.
8.Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
