2 lbs lean ground beef
1 slice bread
1 cup milk , used 1/2 cup at a time
1 tablespoon curry powder
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup raisins
3 tablespoons chutney
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
2 tablespoons vinegar or 2 tablespoons lemon juice
6 almonds , quartered
4 bay leaves or 1 lemon , zest of
1 egg

Instructions

1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

6.Squeeze the excess milk out of the bread and add it to the beef mixture.
7.Pour the beef mixture into a greased ovenproof dish and place the bay leaves or lemon zest on top.
8.Beat the egg and pour it over the top of the beef mixture.
9.Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
